On April 15, 2014, Prof Em Patrick Sorgeloos was conferred the title of Honorary Professor of Hué University (
; Google Translate recommended) by Vice-Councelor Nguyen Van Toan for his relentless support to Vietnamese students and researchers at Hué University. Prof Sorgeloos received the title while he was on a private trip around Vietnam with his 3 daugthers, sons in law and 11 grandchildren.
